The Second PASCAL Recognising Textual Entailment Challenge

چکیده
This paper describes the Second PASCAL Recognising Textual Entailment Challenge (RTE-2).1 We describe the RTE2 dataset and overview the submissions for the challenge. One of the main goals for this year’s dataset was to provide more “realistic” text-hypothesis examples, based mostly on outputs of actual systems. The 23 submissions for the challenge present diverse approaches and research directions, and the best results achieved this year are considerably higher than last year’s state of the art.

The PASCAL Recognising Textual Entailment Challenge
This paper describes the PASCAL Network of Excellence first Recognising Textual Entailment (RTE-1) Challenge benchmark. The RTE task is defined as recognizing, given two text fragments, whether the meaning of one text can be inferred (entailed) from the other. This application-independent task is suggested as capturing major inferences about the variability of semantic expression which are comm...
متن کاملMachine Learning with Semantic-Based Distances Between Sentences for Textual Entailment
This paper describes our experiments on Textual Entailment in the context of the Third Pascal Recognising Textual Entailment (RTE-3) Evaluation Challenge. Our system uses a Machine Learning approach with Support Vector Machines and AdaBoost to deal with the RTE challenge. We perform a lexical, syntactic, and semantic analysis of the entailment pairs . From this information we compute a set of s...
متن کاملExperiments of UNED at the Third Recognising Textual Entailment Challenge
This paper describes the experiments developed and the results obtained in the participation of UNED in the Third Recognising Textual Entailment (RTE) Challenge. The experiments are focused on the study of the effect of named entities in the recognition of textual entailment. While Named Entity Recognition (NER) provides remarkable results (accuracy over 70%) for RTE on QA task, IE task require...

متن کاملDLSITE-2: Semantic Similarity Based on Syntactic Dependency Trees Applied to Textual Entailment
In this paper we attempt to deduce textual entailment based on syntactic dependency trees of a given text-hypothesis pair. The goals of this project are to provide an accurate and fast system, which we have called DLSITE-2, that can be applied in software systems that require a near-realtime interaction with the user. To accomplish this we use MINIPAR to parse the phrases and construct their co...
